KINGMAN — Wayne Merle Hobson age 70 of Kingman died in his home on May 30, 2008. He had lived there for three and half years. He also had lived in Tyler, Texas. Wayne was born on May 11,1938 in Lafayette to the late Allison Hobson and the late Mabel Jane (Adams) Hobson. Wayne was a laborer at Ross Gear and Tool in Lafayette for 20 years. He was also worked for Trane Air Conditioning. He had previously worked at Turkey Run State Park as a night watchman. He spent four years in the Army and four years in the National Guards. He was also a member of the Church of the Brethren. He was a member of the American Legion, 32nd Degree Mason of the Blue Lodge of Troop Texas. Wayne loved woodworking and spending time in his workshop he also loved fishing in his retired years. Wayne married Mary (Lockhard) Hobson on November 7, 1959 in Lafayette. Surviving along with his wife are stepdaughters. Donna Lord of Oxford, Martha (Jerry) Ada Hanson of Brookston, a sister Anita Watkins of Patton, two granddaughters, two grandsons, six stepgrandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Hippensteel Funeral Home, Lafayette with Celebrant Lavonne Summers officiating.
